Important to remember that scales are only so accurate, if your weighing something check the accuracy of your scales, the error could be any thing from +/- 1g to +/- 0.001g depending on the quality of your scales!
If your scales says it weighs 30g but has an error of +/- 1g, the actual weight could be any where between 29g and 31g.

I don’t have any silver eagles, but this video prompted me to weigh the few walking liberty halves I have. Should I be concerned that almost all of them weighed under 12.5? The range was 11.9 – 12.5, and most of them came in at 12.2. They all ring, and none are magnetic. They look good. ????? :/

Where do you buy fake silver eagle coins at, off some guy on the street corner? I guess the same place you would buy your fake $20 bills. The FBI will want to talk with you about counterfeit US money.

When did this start? I’ve been collecting since ’86′ when they first started minting them.

I have seen real coins vary too… slightly… anything under 31 grams or over 31.2 is a fake!
Most fakes come in the 27-30 gram range. A Nitric acid test would be in order.

@Drav1212 is it really worth it to make a fake? Silver is still inexpensive

****Warning****Do NOT purchase silver bullion from QSB. I ordered silver from them, and the rounds I received were damaged. My Invoice # is 245548. I sent them an email, notifying them of the defect rounds I received and of course I did not receive a response. ****Buyer beware******

No fake silver eagles?
I just saw one at the pawn shop yesterday.
Dated 1903, over 80 years off, but nice try.
Think the chinese could get the year right before going through the trouble of casting the damn slugs.
